1.The radio cannot connect to the repeater.
There are several potential reasons why a radio might not be able to connect to a repeater. Please follow the troubleshooting steps below:
1.Ensure that the radio is set to the correct transmit and receive frequencies for the repeater. Repeaters typically have a specific input (receive) and output (transmit)frequency. Ensure all settings, including frequencies, offsets, and tones, are correctly entered.
2.Many repeaters use the Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System (CTCSS) or Digital Coded Squelch (DCS) to prevent unwanted transmissions. Make sure the radio is programmed with the correct CTCSS or DCS code that matches the repeater's settings.
3.The radio might be out of range or in an area with poor signal coverage. Try moving to a different location or closer to the repeater to see if the connection improves. -
2. Two GMRS radios are unable to get them to communicate properly after connecting to a repeater.
Here are some troubleshooting steps:
1. Ensure both radios are programmed with the correct transmit and receive frequencies for the repeater. Verify the repeater's input (receive) and output (transmit) frequencies and make sure both radios match these settings.
2. Test the radios by communicating directly with each other without using the repeater. This can help determine whether the issue is with the radios or the repeater setup.
3. Try operating two radios in a far different location to see if the issue persists.

-
2.The radio cannot communicate with each other even set the same frequency.
Please kindly check if both of them set the same CTCSS/DCS, and check the frequency you set if out of the transmission range.
-
3.The radio only can transmit but cannot receive.
Please check the CTCSS/DCS, the radios cannot communicate with each other properly if they set the different CTCSS/DCS.
